We subtract 0.75" from your total width to accommodate hardware and installation clearance.
Standard Gate Sizing
- Maximum combined width + height = 70"
- Example: 40” wide gate → height up to 30”
- Example: 35” wide gate → height up to 35”
Oversized Option
- For larger gates, select the Oversized Gate option
- Maximum combined width + height = 76"

We ordered custom wooden baby gates for our stairs, and we couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. They blend in beautifully with the rest of our staircase—like they were built with the house. It’s such a nice change from the typical metal or plastic gates. The craftsmanship is excellent, and they feel sturdy and secure.
